The UK theory test now consists of two
parts - the multiple choice section and the hazard perception section.
You will be asked 50 questions in 57 minutes and the pass mark is 43 out of 50.
The hazard perception section consists of 14 movie clips, you must score 44 out of a possible 75 marks to pass this part.

You must pass the multiple choice and the hazard perception parts at the same time to pass the theory test. Your theory test pass certificate is only valid for two years, you must has passed your driving test within the two years or you will be required to resit the Theory Test.

Can I change a multiple-choice answer after I have selected one?
Yes. This is simply done by touching the screen again.
Can I skip multiple-choice questions I am not sure about, and go back to them later?
Yes. You can flag these question then go back to them quickly.
How do I respond to the hazard perception element clips?
For this part of the test you will use a computer mouse. You should click the mouse as soon as you spot a hazard developing. The sooner you respond, the higher your score will be. The highest mark you can score for each developing hazard is 5 points.
Can I view the hazard perception clips more than once, and change my answers?
No. As on the road, you will only have one chance to respond to the hazard.
How long does it take to find out if I've passed?
You receive your test results within 30 minutes of finishing the test.
If I fail, can I just re-sit the bit I failed on?
No. You must sit both parts of the test again.
Can I take my practical test first?
No. You have to take and pass your theory test before booking your practical test.
